“Good surgery starts long before the operating room. It starts with listening.”
Dr. Barnett chose podiatric medicine for a simple reason: the foot and ankle carry everything we do. When they hurt, life gets smaller — walking, working, playing with your kids. She wanted to be the doctor who gives that back.
She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University, after completing dual degrees in biology and psychology — a combination she still draws on daily. Medicine treats the foot; psychology reminds her there’s a person attached to it.
Her surgical residency in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery (PMSR/RRA) took place at Memorial Healthcare System, a Level I trauma center — the kind of environment where the most complex injuries arrive at any hour. She served as Chief Resident during residency, and was honored with the Outstanding Medical Student Teacher Award for 2024–25 for her work training the next generation of surgeons.
Alongside her residency, she operated with the Yucatan Children’s Project, performing pediatric limb-salvage surgery for children who would otherwise go without care. Those cases — technically demanding, deeply human — shaped how she practices today.
In Walnut Creek, Dr. Barnett brings that training to a complete podiatry clinic built around one idea: every patient deserves expert care and a neighbor’s warmth — with a surgeon’s precision in reserve for when it matters. Conservative care comes first whenever it can. When surgery is the right answer, you’ll understand exactly why, and what to expect.
She cares for patients in English and Spanish. And this clinic is only the first chapter — the goal is a family of practices bringing this standard of foot and ankle care across the Bay Area.
